ISLAMIC, Ottoman Empire. 'Abd al-Hamid II, AH 1293-1327 / AD 1876-1909. Medal (Bronze, 33 mm, 12.71 g, 12 h), Constitution Commemorative Medal, 11 July AH 1324 = 1906. Tughra within an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves; seven stars above. Rev. Ottoman coat of arms, two flags and shield under the radiant sun and the crescent moon, various emblems around; above, ‘qānūn esāsi yādigāri’ (‘Commemoration of constitution’ in Ottoman Turkish); below, ‘11 Temmuz sana 1324’ (’11 July, year 1324’ in in Ottoman Turkish). Areas of weakness and with some scratches, otherwise, very fine.
